- I missed yesterday’s Five Random Things because yesterday was out of whack, because I had to drive to the kids’ school three times, BECAUSE! (Takes a deep, gasping breath…) We had a big scary meeting with the school OT, psychologist, head of elementary, and Ambrose’s teacher, to review the results of the OT and psychologist evaluations and to discuss next steps. I got
a bitokay a lot freaked out when the meeting when from initially just us and OT to us, OT, and all the rest. Like…were they about to kick my kid out of school? But no, it was mostly just a meeting of the minds so we can all get on the same page about Ambrose. I’m actually really looking forward to seeing what kind of progress Ambrose can make with his handwriting! (…and of course with his behavioral struggles as well.) - Today has also been sort of out of whack, but in a good way. A really, really good way, actually: this morning I declared today would be a Get Life Back in Order (And Beat the Clock While Doing It) Day ~or~ GLBiO (ABtCWDI) Day. I just sort of came up with this idea on my own:
- First, I wrote down all the rooms to tidy up (because the whole house was a bit of an overwhelming mess) as well as the tasks that needed done (budget and Chatbooks/monthly photo clear were the big ones I’d been putting off)
- Next, I gave each a time budget of 20 minutes.
- Then, I created an “actual” column.
- Finally, I worked my way down the list and timed how long it took to get each area/item done.
- (Continuation of #2) Some areas took longer than the 20 minutes, but most I was able to finish in under 20 minutes. But like, *almost* 20 minutes. I had a lot of stuff to do. And guess what? Now it’s done. My photos are cleared and uploaded. (But not Chatbooked yet, whoops. I’ll do that next.) My house is a beaut. As a reward, I get to go do my piano practice session! (But also…I need a nap.)
- Oop, gotta update TablePress. I finished ‘Salem’s Lot today! Honestly, the Final Boss battle was a little underwhelming! But overall a great story. Then I started a book Jarrod got from Audible, Running on Empty. Which. Hoo boy. Lots of thoughts here. But my emotionally-stunted self is having trouble putting them all into words, of course. 😉
- Small, insignificant career update: I had a decent recruiter call this morning from a place that’s like…a glorified collections agency? Blah. But the guy I spoke to was really nice and encouraging, and it sounds like I’ll be advanced to the Teams call portion of the interview. But I haven’t heard back from him so I guess I don’t actually know. We’ll see.
