- Had my AmTrust interview this afternoon. It went fine, I guess. I mean I didn’t feel like I shone or anything, but I got a call from Jim, the recruiter, an hour or so later saying that they want to bring me onsite for another interview, so. Yay? Not an InstaOffer like the first time around, but still, encouraging. Presumably I’ll go in on Wednesday for this, but I haven’t gotten any solid plans back from Jim yet, and he’s usually pretty quick. But he’s also not the type of recruiter to, ahem, arrange a specific time for a meeting and then just never send the invite.
- (That was a recruiter for a different company, which I shall not bother naming. Had the call with that recruiter last week. I mean, at least say something along the lines of, “Well, it was great to speak to you — I’ll get this in front of the hiring manager and see what he says!” No weird fake scheduling nonsense. Please.)
- I dragged Jarrod to Digger this morning — I’m so glad I went for a second watch! It was so much more fun the second time around. And I noticed the hints about the state of the world/the general plot device that I hadn’t noticed on the first watch. And Jarrod? He LOVED it. I’m glad I finally have someone to talk to about it!
- Tomorrow I have a recruiter call in the morning. This is for an actual junior software engineer position! But I think it’s on-site. Don’t have the name of the company yet, or the compensation range…that’s what tomorrow’s call is about. In any case, they want 0-3 years of experience. Which means that I shouldn’t have to sell my experience too hard, thankfully. We’ll see!
- Have been slacking in my CG workouts. Boooo. Tomorrow before the call I’ll do my HIIT session. Then the call. Then I really need to grab some groceries. Then I might do another workout? If I’m not too tuckered out? I think tomorrow will be reserved for all the life maintenance stuff I neglected by doing too much coding last week: balancing the budget, groceries, tidying up the house, the like. Oh, and GETTING THE CARDBOARD AND PAPER OUT OF THE BASEMENT. Let it be so.
